The Bob Hall Shows

Teatowel

The touring Bob Hall Shows are themed musicals for arts centres, theatres, village halls and similar arts venues. All feature Bob on piano, vocals and occasionally mandolin and Hilary Blythe on bass, vocals and guitar.

The shows include a variety of blues, boogie, gospel and country material, with many self-penned compositions and some unusual songs and tunes from Bob's voluminous record collection. All the Bob Hall shows are intended for general as well as specialist audiences and are enlivened by humorous anecdotes from Bob's historical research and personal experiences on the road.

     Good Liquor, Hard Times

With a background of Prohibition (the USA's least observed law) and the Great Depression, the show traces the origins of blues, jazz, boogie woogie, gospel and country music.

Eccentric personalities, potent bootleg liquor and great music abounded in this historic period - all brought to life in this vibrant evening's entertainment.

Join in with a hand-clapping, foot-tapping blues and boogie woogie party.

Rough and Rowdy Ways

20th century America was a country on the move. Travelling musicians learned their craft in rural 'honky-tonks, cabarets and bars, took their talents to the melting pots of Chicago and New York, and forged the music we now know as jazz, blues and country.  Rough and Rowdy Ways re-lives a plethora of these classic performances and tells the stories of the men and women who created them.

A rocking, rollercoaster ride, with much to make you smile along the way.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks

The rhythm of the train permeated all aspects of American music. The passengers - gamblers, preachers, field-hands and city  folk - all left their mark on our musical heritage from the twentieth century.

Eavesdrop as they recount their stories of life on the Wrong Side of the Tracks in a barn-storming show that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end of the line.
